'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Taylor joins Joe`s fan club

With public support having already come in the form of Shay, Oba and Duffer, Steven Taylor has joined the ranks of NUFC first teamers coming out and supporting Joe Kinnear for bringing the club back to it`s senses. Taylor was a much improved player in the 2-0 win over Villa on Monday and said:

"Hopefully, we have put a smile back on the fans` faces with a good result and team performance against Aston Villa on Monday night. It was fantastic in the dressing room at the end. There is a togetherness now which we had been missing. It was a great week for us gaining two wins. It is so tight at the bottom end that a few wins can push you up towards the top. For us now, it is all about how we perform.

We want to put a few points on the board and let other teams try and catch us. We found the second goal and started to pass the ball well. We killed the game off for the first time in a long while. The team performance was fantastic, and the lads probably deserved the points. We got in among Villa and defended well. We pressed the ball all over the park and did not let them play.

We showed a lot of character. Shola Ameobi battled all game, and Oba Martins made a nuisance of himself playing off him. Jonas Gutierrez looked sharp, and caused them all sorts of problems, and Joey Barton did very well again."
