'If It's Football, It's Vital'

German Iranian linked

Following the Delph link yesterday, Dennis Wise has certainly been busy, with another new name in the frame in the 'young talent` category (Ed. Just like Xisco?). Wolfsburg`s Germany under-21 international striker Ashkan Dejagah is being touted as a possible Owen replacement for the January window, which makes perfect sense.

I mean a German under 21 striker with no Champions League experience is definitely an adequate replacement for England`s all-time fourth highest goalscorer and former European Footballer of the Year.

The Tehran-born striker has emerged as a target after director of football Dennis Wise saw him play against the French under-21 side in Metz a fortnight ago. According to Alan Oliver at the Chronicle, Wise was watching Nice`s French winger Loic Remy, but was so impressed with the 22-year Dejagah he sent his scouts to the Allianz Arena the following weekend to watch Wolfsburg play Bayern Munich.
