South African consortium update

South African consortium update

Having seen a number of high profile South Africans deny interest in the club and Keith Harris deny any concrete interest from any African groups, the figurehead of the alleged group, John Cleland has gone on record in today`s Guardian to claim "We're hopeful of still doing a deal for Newcastle United very soon'.

However Cleland`s group still has no visible high profile backer, nor a preference for manager and seems to be reliant on Brazilian Soccer School founder Simon Clifford for alleged football knowledge. Clifford`s previous time at Southampton was hardly a rip-roaring success either.
