Heskey on Owen

It seems a well founded truth that Emile Heskey and Michael Owen see each other as perfect playing partners. The big man-little man axis was unleashed at Liverpool and worked well for the pair at England level as well. Rumours have abounded that Heskey was wanted at NUFC to provide the perfect foil for our goal machine but it seems Steve Bruce doesn`t have to sell to buy. On Owen`s recent omission he said:

"Michael won`t give up - he`s not one of those players - but it`s totally up to the manager, for he picks the squad. Everybody`s got their own opinion on whether Michael should be in the squad and you have to respect that. I`m a Michael Owen fan, so I would say, definitely, he should be in the squad."

so... if they really do make the "perfect partnership", why is Heskey not wearing a newcastle shirt?

Perhaps because we're about as appealing as a night with Vanessa Feltz?

Heskey's a good guy, loyal and true. But Michael Owen can't expect to play in an England squad unless in top fitness and form. Capello has been merciful to not call him and bench him. How many think he will score more than 20 goals this season?

hey sinbad........will Newcastle score twenty this season ?
