'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Oompah Loompah to return?

Joe Kinnear has wasted no time in scouring the free agents lists since coming into NUFC, with our former defender Steven Carr said to be one of the first players to come in to shore up our inexperienced and creaky backline. Whether Carr can actually make a difference given his displays and injury record over the last few years remains to be seen but Kinnear said:

"For weeks and months we haven`t had a full back four on the pitch. We`ve have had four centre-halves playing across the back four and that doesn`t help any of us, especially the young lads who have been forced to play out of position,

We have been working all week on the training pitch on Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor working together and there is no reason why it shouldn`t work because they`re both quality players. Tayls has a big future and Fabricio is a class act. He`s more like a Bobby Moore character in that he can take a ball out of the air, chest it down and play it out of the back four with both feet. Believe me - he`s a really good player and it`s only a matter of time before he comes good."
