Nigerians update

In the latest update spokesman for the much-mooted Nigerian consortium Oba Martin`s agent and key spokesman Chris Nathaniel confirmed that they hoped they could soon make an announcement about a possible deal:

'All I can say is that we have made contact with Newcastle. The Nigerians are very serious and very resourceful and we will make an announcement in the next 48 hours. I won't comment on the circumstances at Newcastle, but they are a fantastic club and should be reaching further heights than what they are."

Unlikely. Can see Asian / US / Kuwaiti investors with more clout swooping in once the Nigerians have agreed a price with Ashley.

Sad thing Mike Ashley, who has no understanding of football and fans will no doubt make a packet out of you guys.

Even if he sells for £300m, it's £50m profit in little more than a year. I'd love to take an rate of return of 20% like he has.
