'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Poyet or Zico?

As predicted by most of the press this weekend Gus Poyet seems to be the main man in the frame for taking the poisoned chalice off the poison dwarf. Our Spurs section is speculating that talks have actually already taken place:

Gus in Toon talks

Any move for Poyet would be seen as a blatant act of belligerence by the Wise / Ashley camp, bringing in a 'yes` man who is knowingly best pals with both the Director of Football and the 'Mr Fixer` Tony Jiminez. Such an appointment would go down like a lead balloon with fans, as the only option for us is the immediate sale of the club by Mike Ashley.

Meanwhile Brazilian Zico seems to be the other frontrunner to replace the Messiah, with quotes attributed to him saying:

'The Newcastle job is one that I would be very interested in taking. It would be a privilege and an honour. I've always wanted to experience the Premier League as I believe I could enjoy much success coaching in England. I am used to working alongside technical directors so this isn't an issue for me. It's normal for me to work in those conditions.'
