KK defends Milner sale; looks at targets

Kevin Keegan used his pre-match press conference this afternoon to reply to the fans who are obviously bewildered to sell prior to buying. With our current team roster looking more like the Blazing Squad rather than a Premiership 18, KK has come out to give some renewed hope over adding to the squad prior to deadline day on Monday:

'Obviously James is not a player you would want to sell. I would like to say though that it was my my decision to sell him. We got an offer that was good value and if you look into the next two or three days I wouldn't have sold him unless I knew I could move the club forward.

We have a good chance of getting three or four players in before the deadline. I wish James the best for the future. It's right for everybody and people shouldn't think anything bad of him, he has done nothing wrong. You have to remember he hasn't sulked even when he was in the car park at Villa two years ago and then told to turn around.

We have four or five other irons in the fire, two or three who I am seeing where we go with.'

Milner is the sort of player you build a squad around and Newcastle sold him? Bad move.

You've got to be disappointed but if he wants to go, he wants to go. Better to sell for a good sum than have him leave on a Bosman. Wish we'd signed him but life goes on. At least Gutierrez is showing promise. I thought he was going to be rubbish!! Oh and with N'Zogbia on the other flank I think you're very well catered for in the wide areas.

We'll end up getting a load of bargain basement tat to fill in. Just what Mike Ashley wants really.

Feel sorry for you guys! Not the sort of player you want to sell. Expecting tough times ahead but hope you get through it!

How can he defend the Milner sale then say Barton deserves yet another chance
Tiny T
baton does deserve another chance. its getting boring now. Milner is a good player but for 12 million im not dissappointed or happy. i think it was the best outcome. we still have duff, n'zogbia, gutierrez and new signings in the line for the wings. so im optimistic. everyone loves to bring us down but i see this club moving forward. owen to sign new contract! howay the lads.

He could have gone for more, we'd have made more.
