Scores on the doors

Given - 7 - A virtual spectator. Kicked steadily, could do nothing about the goals and made an awesome low stop from Simpson.

Beye - 6 - Not his best game in attack and probably culpable for the first goal by proxy.

Coloccini - 8 - A class act. Coped with any physical battle very well, cracking distribution too.

Bassong - 7 - Very steady. Seemed weary in stoppage time but I liked the look of the lad.

Enrique - 7 - Showed some good dribbles and his ball to Owen for the winner was a peach.

Geremi - 5 - Constantly dispossessed and needed two or three touches too many. The weak link. Now set to be our first choice RM following Milner`s transfer request.

Butt - 7 - Was a Ginger Warrior the whole way through. Well and truly a Magpie now.

Guthrie - 7 - Hit and miss. Great energy, half and half distribution, needs some extra shooting practice.

Spiderman - 8 - Lung busting display. The lad is a firm favourite just off the back of his efforts.

Milner - 9 - MOTM with an absolutely tireless display. Couldn`t really fault the bloke. Until post-match.

N`Zogbia - 8 - Quality display from Chuck. Great dribbling and energy later in the game.

Sub: Owen - 7 - One chance, one goal, quality player.
