'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shaymus sums up

Speaking to the Ronnie after the game, Shay was obviously delighted not to be on the end of another one of our serious humpings by the Mancs. Having been at the club whilst we`ve been beaten 6-2, 6-0, 5-1, 5-3, 5-1 again and 4-1, the fact we`ve actually looked reasonably solid had to be a feather in the cap for the lad. He said:

"We`re delighted. That`s a fantastic result when you compare to the last time we came here and lost 6-0. It`s great to come to the champions and get a point. It maybe could have been more, but we`re delighted to get a point.

You know when you come to Old Trafford you are going to have to make some saves. I`m happy to make saves when called upon. We passed the ball very well and we created some chances as well - we didn`t just go there to defend.

I get called blockhead sometimes, but it can come in handy. It was important to keep my weight forward as it was quite close in. Luckily enough, it hit me on the head. I didn`t know a lot about it, but it doesn`t matter what you keep it out with, as long as you keep them out."

They are the champions of Europe and of the Premier League. It was a tough start to the season and we knew it was going to be a difficult game for us. It was close, but maybe we deserved a bit of luck. Down the years we haven`t had the rub of the green at Old Trafford, so it was probably the bit of luck we needed."
