Just how good was Spiderman?

Just how good was Spiderman?

It says it all when the lad hasn`t played for us competitively yet and hoards of our fans were already dressed up in severely ill-fitting Spiderman costumes. Jonas Gutierrez has certainly captured the hearts of our fans with his English interviews, great L`Oreal hair and work rate in the pre-season games. However yesterday at Old Trafford the lad was different gravy.

Strong in attack, pacey on the ball and, most satisfying of all, he looked fantastic tracking back, have we finally found an all-around left sided player? The quality moment when he played the one-two with Oba to burst in on goal, another where he left Rooney on his arse and clipped the ball to the far post and then his burst back to dispossess Campbell and charge up-field. All summed up the fact this lad is going to become a serious cult hero.

Singling out Jonas, as good as he was, seems a little unfair on our other two debutants. Colo was excellent, not challenged particularly by Campbell and Rooney, and Guthrie was definitely steady away in the middle. All in all if KK, Wise and co can draft more in of that quality and suss out the left back conundrum I reckon we`ll do just fine.

I have to admit I was mightily impressed by him! Not your biggest fan but congrats for the result yesterday! More defending like throughout the season and we'll have to take lessons from you, our defending was pants! Gutierrez has all the attributes to become a hit in the PL, good luck to him, reminds me of Andy van der Meyde except fully fit! :)

TT - and unlike Van Der Meyde I doubt Jonas is particularly much of a booze hound party boy.

van der Meyde isn't a booze hound party boy though, he's a fella who has been really unfortunate with the poor health of his daughter who has been hospitalised since birth. That's enough to effect anyone mentally let alone physically, maybe you should do some research before your next comment?

"Everton footballer Andy van der Meyde has had two cars and his dog stolen, just days after being fined by his club for going on a night out." Good research! Also found out his nickname on some sites is Shandy Van Der Meyde.

A night out, and you deduce he is a drunk because of a night out? If you'd read the story a bit more (ie like a good researcher) you'd have learnt he had his drink spiked. Yer good research indeed, maybe you shouldn't believe everything you read in the papers? How naive. Oh and the nickname, was made by a naive Evertonian, many of which don't fully understand like yourself, don't worry you're not alone.
