'If It's Football, It's Vital'

KK backs Smudge

With the Daily Mail believing a move for Alan Smith is past the post, KK came out to defend the player after a complete set of bucknuts amongst the 31,000 crowd decided to boo him when he came on v Valencia.

The subject has been done to death over the weekend as people try to fathom out just why he merited the cat calls. Has he asked for a move? Has he given anything less than 100%? Personally it`s a 'no` to both so I can`t understand it.

Either way I think the whole club is pissing KK off at the moment. I especially liked his comments about knowledgeable fans - on the basis of Smith`s booing that`s a complete oxymoron. KK said:

"Alan Smith is a Newcastle player and that's it. He covers in a lot of positions, is a great lad around the place - and whole-hearted. He may not always be the best player on the pitch, but no one will try harder.

I'm not going to try and tell this crowd what to do. It's a very knowledgeable crowd. They're the first to cheer if a player scores a goal and sometimes they show their feelings. They've got every right to do that, they pay their money.'

How bad does a player have to be to get booed if he tries hard? It's not that pleasant but when you see a player like Alan Smith on that much money I can understand why some of your fans might be tempted to boo.

Pleeeeeez don't sell Alan Smith to us. It's all over today's papers. I really hope this doesn't happen, the bloke is a c*ck.
