'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The week that was

As another week drifts idly past it seems the great conundrum of who will start our first game seems a long way off. The weekend saw a seemingly pointless exercise in Majorca, as the first team and reserves combined to end up with two 1-0 defeats at the hands of both the home side and Hertha Berlin. Nothing quite summed up the current striker shortage then Stroller and Smith making up the front line. Dear god...

This carried on into midweek as the Dutchies of PSV came to SJP. We managed a two goal salvo in 8 minutes, with Tayls and Guthrie scoring early. They came back, natch, and it ended 2-2. Our bench of teenagers however frightened the shit out of us as we zoom towards an impossible task at Old Trafford in 10 days.

In transfer terms the Coloccini deal managed to string out another week. As I type the gadge with the hair like an 80s rock god is set to be unveiled at the Valencia game the morra.

Arthur Cox again left the club as the sharks from the Daily Mail seized upon rumours of more splits in the camp. What is it with their agenda on the Ashley regime? I can only figure they`ve been mentally scarred by something involving Lonsdale gear.

Finally Alan Smith might be going to Everton. That is all.
