'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bassong his way

Congrats to KK for finally getting one of the much needed defensive reinforcements in. It looks like Saturday`s trialist, Seb Bassong, has impressed Kev sufficiently enough to take him from Metz for good. In best pigeon French I hounded out the following translation from Altavista off the Metz website:

Football Club of Metz and Newcastle United found an agreement financial concerning the international defender hope Sebastien Bassong. This one very soon will sign a contract with the English club, which he trained with throughout last week. A Metz youth product, Sebastien Bassong carried the garnet-red shirt to 87 appearances. He registered a goal, at the time of season 2006/2007.

Think he's a utility player - RB and CB.
