Shepherd 'steps aside`

Famous for never missing out on a player once at NUFC, merely 'stepping aside` when a player decided to go elsewhere, Freddie Shepherd has ended up losing out his bid to buy the island club. In a way this comes as a blow to Newcastle fans as he would have taken Shola off the club`s hands had he been successful and probably caused a laughing stock situation by appointing Allardyce as boss.

The club was instead bought by Paul Davidson who intends to keep the current director in the hotseat for at least 5 years.
