Ameobi on his way to Norwich

Norwich are on the verge of signing Newcastle's underachieving striker in a possible 3.5m deal.

According to the Daily Mail 'The former England U21 striker has knocked back moves to Ipswich and Stoke this summer but is keen to link up with his former St James` Park manager Glenn Roeder, who is believed to have persuaded his board to find the finance for the deal.'

This would be a fantastic deal for Ameobi who despite promise has never really cut it at this level. Good luck to him I say. I just hope this means that there is going to be a striker on his way or that Carroll is about ready to get his chance.

3.5 million seems a lot of money for somebody who doesn't score goals. Who would be daft enough to pay it?

Newcastle fans... how on earth does this man warrant 4 million quid. I say sell him to Norwich, and get them into administration. Seriously, somebody tell me who plucked that figure out of the air?
