Could Newcastle go for Deco, Eto'o or Ronaldinho?

All three are available; could Newcastle attract any of them?

Deco has been linked with Chelsea and his former manager Scolari. This would effectively rule us out of the running; let`s face it we cannot compete with Chelsea.

Eto'o has expressed his desire to move to a Champions League club so again this would rule us out unless Keegan's legendary pulling power could works some wonders and sell the dream of Newcastle to the striker. However I would say this is unlikely.

Ronaldinho has been linked with Manchester City and even the MLS in America where of course the wages would be high. I would suggest that Manchester City will be in a far stronger position as they are looking for the trophy signings we used to go for and will put forward a massive carrot in wages to the skilful Brazilian. With rumours (and that's all they are) that there is a lot of belt tightening going on at Newcastle it is unlikely to be matched.

So in all, three wonderful players are available and unfortunately it seems we will not have any success in signing any of them. Still not to despair I am sure Kevin Keegan has something up his sleeve won't he? Don't forget there is a long way to go in the transfer market.

No offence, but I don't know why Newcastle are always being linked with these big names and then the fans moan when the players don't sign - bar Owen!
