Newcastle after Ivory Coast defender

Newcastle after Ivory Coast defender

According to Skysports.com Newcastle are after Hamburg's defender Guy Demel. The 6'3' Hamburg defender is flattered to be linked with Newcastle and told Skysports.

"I am thinking of Ivory Coast. We are not playing as we should be."

"My transfer will be talked about soon. The Premier League is a top league."

"It is good to be linked with famous teams such as Newcastle."

"We will wait and see."

If there ever was a come and get me plea then that is it. I must admit I have not seen him play but he is an international defender who is also being courted by Manchester City and Portsmouth which may dent our chances somewhat as we can not offer european football unlike Manchester City and Portsmouth who qualified via the Fair Play league and winning the F.A. cup respectively.

Newcastle are also supposedly interested in Christopher Samba the giant Blackburn defender who stands at 6'5': a formidable opponent for any attacker.

As is usual, the club has not officially commented and will not comment until somebody has signed so watch this space.
