Barton to be sacked?

Barton to be sacked?

According to The Mail Newcastle are planning to sack jailed £55,000-a-week midfielder Joey Barton unless he agrees to a 50-per-cent pay cut.

Manager Kevin Keegan wants to keep Barton, despite him being imprisoned for six months in May for assault and affray.

In our pole it's about 50/50 between you as to whether he should be sacked or not. We think there are a couple of problems with this. The first one is the most important: you may well upset Kevin Keegan. The second is if you are going to sack him, sack him. Don't half sack him! He either deserves to be sacked or not. Let`s have no half hearted measures to cut the wage bill.

Should be drummed out of Football for good, he's had more than enough chances.

Agree with you leehitchen give the lad another chance to show what kind of footballer he is and hopefully with support he'll come through his spell in prison a different bloke and better for it.

How many chances should he get? He's in the public eye and whilst at Newcastle he's giving your club a bad name. If I was you I would get rid.

A draw against Liverpool was certainly a point gained than points lost as at half time at Anfield we were dead and buried. Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace must be beaten though!
