Chris Mort leaving Newcastle United?

The Evening Standard writes 'Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is expected to respond to the departure of chairman Chris Mort, who is returning to his London law firm Freshfields, as revealed in Sports Agenda, by upgrading deputy chairman Derek Llambias.'

We think that Chris Mort has done a good job at Newcastle United. He has setup a good structure despite the snipes from the Southern based press. He has always carried himself with dignity and has never embarrassed the club unlike certain ex chairman.

It has been widely reported that it was always his intention to leave Newcastle once certain duties had been performed. Do you think this is the case or do you think something is wrong at the club? We believe that his job has been done and wish him all the best for the future if indeed he leaves.

Does this mean the owner will cease to be a fan on the terraces then?
