Newcastle United: what's the story?

As close season is upon us, Newcastle United will be linked with just about every player on the planet. Who realistically will arrive?

We cannot offer a place in Europe or London for that matter. It also seems as though (quite sensibly) the club will not pay silly wages any more. What can we offer that the likes of Spurs, Villa and Everton cannot? In our (my) humble opinion these are clubs we should hope to be battling with next season. We do however think that Newcastle United may have difficulty in attracting players. If we were given a budget of say £25m by Chris Mort and Mike Ashley, who could we realistically buy?

Give us some names, realistic prices and why they might come to Newcastle.

How about my grandmother, she would probably be up for a laugh under Keegan and she'd cost less than 60k per week.

There doesn't seem to be much apart from speculation and rumour. Basically don't believe it until they are wearing the black and white stripes.
