Viduka Facing Long-Term Layoff

Kevin Keegan had hoped that Mark Viduka's Achilles injury wouldn't be that severe, and would simply required more injections and rest over the summer but after coming off at half time against Chelsea on Monday the writing was on the wall, and now the Australian is facing up to six months out: 'Mark Viduka could be out for three to six months, 'Keegan told the media. 'That's a blow for us but we'll see.

'We'll know more in two weeks and will inform you then. Mark's done great for us so that's a blow.'

The 32-year-old has been plagued by injuries over the past few years, and this latest setback is a big blow to Keegan and the Australian national side who will now have to do without him for several key 2010 World Cup qualifying matches.

How much do you think that Viduka will be missed by the Toon, albeit simply for the start of next season or maybe until the turn of the year?
