Thompson To Return To St James'

Local lad Alan Thompson, who played for the Toon in the early 1990's before being allowed to leave for Bolton by Kevin Keegan, in his first spell as boss, is to return to St James' to join the coaching set-up.

Dennis Wise, who managed Thompson at Leeds, arranged the move and he according to The Chronicle and he will work with the Newcastle Academy. While he does this he will continue to take his coaching badges to qualify him for higher levels in the future.

Are you happy to see Thompson returning? You would think that his knowledge of the Toon, and what it means to play for them as a local will be a good thing as this will surely transfer yet further onto the youngsters coming through?
