Ameobi Having Doubts Over Stoke Move

The Toon had a deal in place with Stoke that would see them sign Shola Ameobi at the end of his loan period should they gain promotion. Now that they have done this it is thought that he might have had a change of heart and might not want to stay with Stoke afterall.

Rumour has it that he is missing Tyneside and isn't entirely sure if he wants to make the move to Stoke permanent afterall, so that could be £4million of Kevin Keegan's summer budget down the toilet.

A £1million a year contract has been offered, but Stoke will also not want any deal to go through if he isn't completely sure, however it has been suggested by those at Stoke that they will not be to downhearted if he doesn't want to sign in the end.

Norwich are believed to be waiting in the wings if the deal does fall through, if he would be willing to move on elsewhere. Norwich are of course managed by former Toon boss Glenn Roeder, so this is an easily link to potentially fabricate isn't it!

Will Ameobi return to St James', or will he move on to either Stoke or maybe Norwich?
