Cuellar In, Smith Out?

Rumour has it, according to The Sun again, that Glasgow Rangers are interested in Alan Smith and could offer £5million for the England man, so with Kevin Keegan being keen on Rangers defender Carlos Cuellar a swap deal could take place.

Keegan is keen on bringing Cuellar to St James', even though Rangers don't want to sell but a deal could be possible? The only potential problem, that is assuming Keegan is even willing to sell Smith, is believed to be Smith's wages, which are fairly substantial.
