'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Left-Back The Top Of KK's Priorities

Jose Enrique may be the current left-back under Kevin Keegan but the Toon boss has admitted that he would like to bring in another left-back this summer to help Enrique as he continues to develop at St James' and adjust to life in England: 'It's a bit of a mixed bag at the moment. The good things are good, and there are things he needs to learn, but he's still only 22,' Keegan told the Gazette. 'Jose's already doing some very good things, and his English is improving.

'He's young and he's come into the Premiership. He's come into a club which has struggled, and that's always difficult for any player.

'He's picking it up now, but I've still got to sign another left-back, as I've only got one at the club.

'That's not to say I don't fancy Jose, I do, but I need another left-back.'

Enrique is the only senior left-back that Keegan can call on so it is understandable that he is looking for another to challenge Enrique, or even cover for the Spaniard if needed. The most strongly mentioned candidate so far is Liverpool's John Arne Riise.

Who do you think, or would you want, to be Keegan's left-back signing?
