Tal Ben Haim was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle under former Toon boss Sam Allardyce, but he eventually decided that Chelsea was a better option when he joined them as a free agent. This move hasn't worked out for him and he has just been hit with a hefty fine for being critical of his boss Avram Grant.
It would seem that Ben Haim will now be leaving Chelsea this summer and rumour has it that Kevin Keegan could be tempted to make a move for him this summer, with Werder Bremen star Diego also gaining a few column inches in the media, he is being linking with a possible £15million move to St James'.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid are all casting an eye over Diego, so even if he does leave Bremen Keegan will have his work cut out to sign him. Diego himself has said that he is happy in Germany anyway: 'I feel very comfortable in Bremen and I am not thinking about my future,' Diego told bild.de.
'I have a contract for three years and there is no reason to leave.'
How often do people say these types of things then leave anyway though? Are Ben Haim and Diego players that would be wanted at St James' next season, and would they even sign?
