'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Toon Injury Update

James Milner was already known as one of those that could return to the squad for the derby with Sunderland, Stephen Carr, who is now also fit, could join him. Claudio Cacapa, Emre and Peter Ramage are all making good progress but are not quite ready yet: 'Both Emre and Claudio Cacapa are doing light training with a view to coming back in the next 10 days,' Kevin Keegan told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle. 'Stephen Carr's fit now, so maybe he just needs another half a game. He had half a game the other day.'

'Peter Ramage is back fit again, but it's a difficult time for players coming back from long-term injuries, because there's no reserve games.

'We have only the Northumberland Cup final with Blyth Spartans at St James' Park next Wednesday night.'

Anyone that returns to the squad for the Tyne-Wear derby with Sunderland on Sunday would only be able to make the bench at best, as Keegan has already said he isn't planning any changes to his side if he can avoid it.
