Although Newcastle are just about safe until this is mathematically the case Kevin Keegan wants to put contract talks on hold. He does plan talks with Stephen Carr, Craig Ramage and James Troisi but until this safety is 100% confirmed these talks are no his priority: 'We are safe, I think, but we're not mathematically safe yet,' Keegan told the media.
'When we are, we'll talk about Stephen Carr and Peter Ramage, there's also James Troisi. We're aware of that but, with the greatest respect to those players, they're not the priority when we're fighting for survival. They'll come up over the next week or two. We're doing everything stage by stage.'
Keegan probably already has his mind made up on what the future hold for all three of these players, and others, but is playing his cards close to his chest at the moment.
Do Carr, Ramage and Troisi all have futures with the Toon or do you think that Keegan will deem them surplus to requirements?
