Viduka Pleased With Toon Resilience

Viduka Pleased With Toon Resilience

Although the football in the 0-0 draw with Portsmouth might not have been quite on a par with the free flowing form shown against Spurs the week before when the Toon won 4-1 Mark Viduka was nevertheless left a pleased man on Saturday.

Viduka always knew that the match was going to be tough, but the resilience shown impressed him: 'It was very different to the Spurs performance but, in its own kind of way, it was probably just as pleasing,' Viduka told the official website. 'We were very resilient, and we had to be. We're a team that's very difficult to beat now.

'It was a very difficult game, but it was always going to be.'

Had this match came a month or two back he feels it would have been a very different story and the Toon probably would have lost, but their new found resilience has made the difference, and he wants this to remain the case from hereon in.
