'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shearer positive

Fresh from cycling from Tyneside to London for Sport Relief and spending his Saturday night with Messers Hansen and Lineker in the MOTD studios, Alan Shearer has reiterated his belief that the current crap, I mean crop, of players will have enough to keep the club in the Premier League. Shearer said:

"I don`t see any reason how he can be in danger. The owner [Mike Ashley] and chairman have put their faith in Kevin. He is - and was - the right choice and he will take the club forward providing the owner gives him the funds. There is no point in appointing him if they are not prepared to do that.

I think he went into it knowing they had a difficult run of fixtures and that confidence was at an all-time low. Put those two together and it is bad situation.

I still believe and maintain they won`t go down. They need a result against Birmingham, because it has been a long time since they won. They have three crucial home games and we will know more after those. It [speculation about Keegan`s future] is nonsense, but no one can stop that until they go out and get results."

I'd love to see ye go down just for not giving Big Sam some time.If ye could be joined by Derby,Fulham,Wigan,Spurs and all the teams that sacked their managers after so little time.Ye have never had success so how can Ashley demand it instantly???

I don't want Toon relegated - fans are far too crazy for that and deserve more. Can't stand that chancer, KK though. No talent whatsoever.

java F@ck off you ***** you have to be a macum to be splurting cr@p like this. We got rid of BSA because he lost the plot and the dressing room and very poor results he could'nt get the team motivated and was more concentrating on draw results. 1 -4 win against the spuds come on Newcastle.

Nice one Toon - I don't think you're going down. And Big Sam was poor at Newcastle, that simple. Sticking with him, they would be relegated.
