Barton cleared

Rejoice? Joey Barton has enjoyed yet another trial by video reprieve following his d*ckheed actions against Villa, with referee Lee Mason deciding that no further action is required. It had looked like the ref missed Barton lashing his arms out at Shaun Maloney in a penalty box tangle, however the player seems in the clear now.

Former Mag Lee Bowyer also had his red card v Birmingham rescinded by a surprisingly generous panel.

He should have gone to Specsavers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is this even possible? Any player should have received a ban for what he did to the little man. A player who is on bail on charges of assault....beggars belief.

Twice this season. I thought he would have got clobbered for this one after what he did to Etuhu earlier in the season.

Absolutely shocking. I like newcastle and you could seriously do without someone like Barton. How he got away with that is unbelievable, looks like he's never gonna learn his lesson either, maybe a good prison sentence wud sort the little thug out...

Looks like you'll get your wish come summer time.
