Barton under the microscope

Having escaped punishment for smacking Dickson Etuhu in the knackers back in November during the derby match, it looks like Joey Barton is set to be pulled up for his off the ball antics with Shaun Maloney on Saturday, with the FA set to view footage of the incident.

Sky Sports believe referee Lee Mason is set to view the footage and report his views back to the FA. This should mean another three match ban for the man who can`t seem to keep himself out of trouble on or off the pitch.

The worst thing about it all is that it`s probably a positive thing him getting banned, on the basis of his performances so far.

Can I recommend a brain transplant with a monkey for the thug?

Is anyone really at all surprised by this? Notice it was Maloney as well. Could he have chosen a smaller player? Would've liked to have seen him try it on with Martin Laursen or John Carew. They'd put him in his place.

He really is a prize****. It's gone past the stage where you can pass it off as a minor mistake- it happens every other week!
