'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The 'R` word

Following on from another disjointed wing display Damien Duff found time to explain the mood within the camp as the club struggles to keep the vultures from circling:

'We are in a fight. Relegation hasn't been mentioned in team-talks because we are trying to stay positive. But anyone who has got half a brain can see we need to pick up points, and the sooner the better. We have got a lot of work to do. We are way off what Newcastle United expects. It's probably a good thing we haven't got a game as it gives us two weeks to work on the training ground.'

The league as a whole in the bottom half is dreadful this year. You probably only need 1 more win to stay up

Agreed - it is rank. Home games v Sunderland, Fulham and Reading to come should be enough.

No relegation problems for you guys in a league that has Derby, Fulham and Birmingham in it. Villa had been very poor for the last few matches, so may I thank your benevolent defenders for getting us back on track and restoring confidence! I really hope KK turns it round for you, but, being honest, I can't see it. KK was a poor appointment, made with the heart and not the head. All football fans, not just Newcastle, love KK's attitude and enthusiasm for the game, but in 2008 that's not enough. One thing I'm sure Kevin will get right, because he is an honourable man, is rid the club of Barton and Emre. That thug and racist should not be dragging the great name of Newcastle United through the mud. You are better off without them. Good luck for the rest of the season.
